Artisphere's Teen Work Experience Program presents a for teens, by teens Battle of the Bands at Artisphere on Saturday, June 16 at 6pm featuring eight local high school bands from across the DC Metro Area. The event is entirely produced—from booking the bands to stage management to promotion—by the teens participating in the program.

The audience will decide the winner of the Battle of the Bands showcase and win 32 hours of professional recording time at 4Mile Studios in Arlington, Virginia. Tickets are $5.  Bands were selected by the Artisphere's Teen Work Experience Program participants for their musical merit and diversity of sound from a variety of area high schools including Yorktown (Arlington, VA), Walt Whitman(Bethesda, MD), Poolesville(Poolesville, MD), George Mason (Falls Church, VA), Falls Church (Falls Church, VA)  and Washington-Lee (Arlington, VA).|

Each band will perform a 15 minute set of original material, with a limit of one cover song per band. The bands performing are:  Teen Witch Rebellion, Songs About Girls, Challenger Deep, New Metro, Breakthrough, Remedy, NOX and Foozle.

Artisphere’s Teens Work Experience is a month-long interactive internship for DMV area high school seniors. The four participants in the program, mentored by Sasha Lord of Sasha Lord Presents, have learned through professional experiences and workshops various aspects of running a performing arts center with the main project being the curation and  presentation of a Battle of the Bands.
