SUMMER THEATRE EXPERIENCE
Camp dates: Monday June 25 – Friday July 13, 2012 (three weeks), daily 10am - 4pm
New audition date: Sat May 19 / 12:30-2pm All skill levels will be accepted
All skill levels will be accepted. Please prepare two contrasting songs from a musical and bring sheet music. Dress to dance.
Camp showcase performance: Friday, July 13, 5:30pm / Dome Theatre
Tuition: $1000 for all three camp weeks
Camp manager: Lynn Sharp Spears, Actress & Summer Theatre Experience Director
Provide your young actor with a unique and professional performing arts camp experience. Lynn Sharp Spears and her talented staff have designed a camp for teens with an interest in all aspects of theater. In this three week program, students will audition, be cast and rehearse with WSC Avant Bard company members to create a fully staged musical and will receive intensive training in:
- Vocal technique and performance
- Character development
- Stage makeup
- Dance and movement
- Auditioning
- Voice and diction
Other skills that may be taught, such as mask making, puppetry, stage combat and improv, will be dependent on the show chosen for the students. The program will culminate with a full musical production for family and friends on the final day of camp.
NOTE: In 2011 Artisphere hosted two one-week Summer Theater Experience programs for teens, which generated fabulous evaluations from parents:
